Andy’s taste in music has been responsible for millions of smiley faces, stroked chins and tapped feet, through of DJing and broadcasting. Andy is a founder of the world’s most notorious radio station Ibiza Sonica. Twice weekly he presents his bi-lingual “Balearia” show, showcasing the ultimate selection of new and old Balearic sounds. He also programs the station adding syndicated shows such at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide, Ben Watt’s Buzzing Fly, and Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision. You can see why the Ibiza Sonica iPhone App shot into the top 20 in the world last year! Regulary hitting 1 million listeners worldwide during Ibiza’s summer months, Andy’s music reaches all corners, and you can read some of his philosophies in this interview. Kenneth rose to international stardom with a seminal piece of compiling called “Music for Dreams”. He has since pioneered an experimental electronic sound in his productions, and led a new wave of Scandinavian Balearic aficionados onto the world stage. Kenneth currently produces a Music For Dreams radio show which is syndicated weekly on Ibiza Sonica radio, and has just released his third album as “The Kenneth Bager Experience”, called “Fragments from a Space Cadet 2″; a follow up to his critically acclaimed album of the same name in 2006. Kenneth came down to Balearic Mystique to play alongside Sonica’s Andy Wilson for the latter’s birthday party on the beach, where he was also joined by Jon Sa Trinxa and DJ Dribbler of Solid Gold Safari. Here’s a link to Kenneth’s My Space page…Learn More

If ever there was a man with an envied record collection Mr. Moon Boots is that man. An almost mythical Manchester DJ, Balearic Mystique is proud to confirm that he is in fact a real human man. We know this because he also played at the Last Night a DJ Saved My Life Launch weekender in London…and he also flew in from the Synch festival in Greece. And that’s not where the similarities between himself and Balearic Mike end – they both wear a beard. However, this is where the similarities end as unlike Mike he has never been tempted over to Ibiza. This small fact doesn’t detract from his sublime appreciation for sound, and his love of vinyl, making each Moon Boots set a collector’s item. He’s so underground that we couldn’t find a link for any of Boots’ parties, so here’s his MySpace page…Learn More

Our DJ features continue with the beard-wearing Balearic Mike…Despite the name, Mike is not from the Balearic Islands but he is certainly called Mike. He has acquired his name, and substantial accolades by playing unforgettable sets with a certain Balearic feel – just what Balearic Mystique were after. Mike played for us in London during the Last Night a DJ Saved My Life launch weekender, living up to his international bon viveur’s reputation by flying in after DJing at the Synch festival in Greece. He currently plays at the Unabombers’ Electric Elephant parties, and presents a monthly musical gathering alongside friend, and partner on the decks, Jan Hammered, at Manchester’s Folk Café, called Estrellas – aptly named after a Balearic beer. You can see all the details here…Learn More

Clara has been DJing in Ibiza for some time now, but you can’t see any sign of wear and tear. She was the Creative Director of Ibiza super-club Es Paradis at the age of 17; she’s played across the world, produced and run record labels, and somehow she has still found time to present radio shows. She currently broadcasts her weekly ‘Jack’s House’ on Ibiza Sonica, and makes regular live appearances in Ibiza throughout the summer and winter. Previously known as Ms. Bisto, due to her particular taste in dirty house music, Clara has developed her own Latin influenced house sound – a sound Balearic Mystique couldn’t resist. You can follow her activities here.
“I love all the other stuff but first and foremost I’m simply a good house DJ. I care about people. I wanna see them dance and if they’re dancing then so am I.”Learn More

Jon Sa Trinxa is one of Ibiza’s truly endearing DJ legends, acquiring his name from the small Ses Salines shack-turned bar in which he plied his trade for almost two decades. Over the years Jon has entertained and enlightened tens of thousands of visitors of the island and audiences across the globe, and still continues to do so. A record collector and master of the edit, Jon’s mixes get passed round the planet spreading his uplifting and refined sound. As a man who has played one or two sunsets, we thought Jon would be an ideal Balearic Mystique guest. You can follow his updates and weekly radio shows on Ibiza Sonica on his Facebook Fan page.
“At school they said my obsession for music may have a detrimental effect on my future. Well you can’t always believe what people say.”
